Influence of different C/N(NH4+-N) on nitrogen removal performance of ANAMMOX/denitrification synergistic interaction in ASBR reactor was investigated.Compared with ANAMMOX performance under inorganic conditions, the results indicate that C/N ratio determines the direction of development of ANAMMOX/denitrification synergistic interaction. ANAMMOX is the dominant reaction when the ratio of C/N is less than 0.33; The optimal ratio of C/N was 0.67, and the ammonium and nitrite removal efficiencies stay at 92% and 95% respectively. Meanwhile the removal efficiency of COD is also higher than 96%. When the ratio of C/N is higher than 1.33, denitrification reaction share the advantage gradually. When the ratio of C/N is higher than 2.96, denitrification becomes the dominant reaction, and the decreasing removal efficiencies of ammonium indicating the weakening of ANAMMOX reaction.The kinetic characteristics of ANAMMOX/denitrification synergistic interaction were studied through batch tests. The kinetic characteristics of ANAMMOX could be described by the Haldane model as ammonia and nitrite could both impose inhibition to ANAMMOX biomass. The kinetic parameters were determined, where the maximum specific growth rate of ammonia was 0.0816 kg NH4+-N/(kgVSS.d). The half saturation constants and the half inhibition constants of ammonium was 8.4mg/L and 1198.2mg/L respectively. The maximum specific growth rate of nitrite was 0.27kgNO2--N/(kgVSS.d),and the half saturation constants and half inhibition constants for nitrite was 10.2mg/L and 300.1mg/L. Monod model and Haldane model were used to determine the kinetic characteristics of COD and nitrite respectively. The results showed that the maximum specific growth rate of nitrite was 0.2kgNO2--N/(kgVSS.d). The half saturation constants of nitrite was 17.4mg/L, and the half inhibition constant of nitrite was 128.4mg/L. When diluted multiples of four thirds, with obvious acutetoxicity, and the inhibition of nitrate nitrogen in the system, and makes the system denitrification performance fell sharply, ammonia nitrogen, nitrate nitrogen removal rate lowest drops to about 50%, this time by 20 ml/d of fresh mud additive and the extension of HRT can effectively alleviate run obstacle, ammonia nitrogen and nitrate nitrogen removal rate rise to 85.1% and 85.1% respectively.
