| The manufacturing industry of tire is the most important industry in rubber industry. With the increased ownership of motor vehicles in China, as the accessory, tire is in great demand. In this situation, the manufacturers continue to increase investments and add equipments to expand capacity. Due to the adjustment of the industrial structure, as traditional manufacturing industry, the tire manufacturing industry is in transitional period. Rubber equipment is the key issue of tire production, and its intelligent, networked, integrated developing trend is the solution of the tire industry transition.Belt assembly is a critical component of radial tire. The research focuses on the belt assembly production facility-steel cord cutting machine. Considering the requirements of the facility, the research is based on virtual instrument and Rockwell ControlLogix integrated architecture. Using "IPC+PLC" structure, the developed measurement and control system of steel cord cutting machine which is open and comprehensive combines a set of functions, such as equipment control, status monitoring, information storage and intelligent fault diagnosis. In terms of system data communication and control network, decide that use industrial Ethernet communication as communication mode and use "star+ ring" network topology after analyzing mainstream network solutions and strategy. According to the tire manufacturing requirements and running processes of steel cord cutting machine, research on the control strategy and algorithm of several key points, such as cord unwinding, cutting, sticking, reeling, power roller and center position control, and realize them by the software and hardware platform of Rockwell ControlLogix integrated architecture. By studying and analyzing the communication interrace, human-machine interface and the algorithms of fault diagnosis expert system theory and using Lab VIEW, the real-time monitoring and fault diagnosis expert system is developed.Through testing and running in industrial field, the measurement and control system of steel cord cutting machine based on virtual instrument works smoothly. Moreover, the system can achieve fast and accurate diagnosis for common faults, which can shorten the maintenance downtime and improve the facility utilization efficiency. This research can provide an actual reference of applying virtual instrument and fault diagnosis expert system in large-scale machinery. |
