As the main bearing part of the heavy duty CNC gantry machine center and headstock, the static and dynamic characteristics of the beam affect directly the precision of the spindle. In this article, the research is based on XKA2850 heavy duty CNC gantry machine center. The content can be concluded as follows:(1) The research on the beam of CNC gantry machine center is summarized. The history and content of reliability based design optimization problem is introduced briefly.(2) The basic concept of finite element and elastic mechanics is summarized. The iteration of three methods, which is, equivalent normal conversion method, first order reliability method, single loop single variable method in RBDO problem, is introduce step by step.(3) The finite element model of the beam is built. The stress and strain is found by statics analysis. The first four order natural frequency is discovered through the modal analysis. Based on the response surface method, the reliability based design optimization problem is constructed. And the result is solved.(4).Net framework, C# and Matlab are introduced. The advantages and disadvantages of C# and Matlab are compared. The hybrid programming method with Matlab and C# is proposed. The steps of hybrid programming of Matlab and C# are introduced step by step. The application of hybrid programming of Matlab and C# is also shown. In the end, the reliability optimization software is briefly introduced.
