IGD is a technology of integrated geosteering drilling aiming at realizing geology steering near bit, increasing the ratio of penetrated oil zone length to total oil zone lengths and considerably lowering drilling cost by revising on real time the previously established modeling and drilling engineering based on optimizing the previously made geology design and all drilling data dynamically traced.Major IGD Technologies of Horizontal Wells: Micro-structure study and reservoir delicate description technology for objective formations; Trajectory optimization and revision for “Horizontal Well Geology Design”; Prediction technology of reservoir variation ahead of bit by applying composite geology data; On-site tracing and revising technology of horizontal well trajectory.GWDC has undertaken IGD services for 656 wells, assisted the optimization design for 420 wells for customers. Through IGD, oil zone penetration ratio is over 90% on average. At present, there are 164 drilled horizontal wells of Su-10 and Su-53 blocks in the Sulige gas field, and all wells entered the target successfully at one time, average horizontal section length is large than 1km and the oil zone penetration ratio of horizontal section is up to 85% on average.The application effect in Kazakhstan: 26 horizontal wells are finished successfully, and the reservoir Penetration ratio of horizontal section is up to 82.75% on average.
