Warp sizing was the last procedure of weaving preparation in textile industry. Sizing percentage directly affect subsequent loom weaving efficiency and quality. The online auto-control for sizing percentage was studied in this paper. The determinants of affecting warp sizing percentage were analyzed in the process of sizing. It is concluded that the determinants of warp sizing percentage are sizing solid content and extruding regain. Through the discussion of determinants. The extruding regain is measured by experimental method, and the solid content detector detection of solid content in sizing. A method is developed to detect online testing of warp sizing percentage. the principle of warp sizing percentage control was analyzed. The compound heating tube instead of the original direct heating tube. It is beneficial to realize online testing of sizing percentage. Compound heating consists of two parts: direct heating and indirectly heating. By changing the steam flow of direct and indirectly heated tube, then control the change of solid content in sizing. It can implement the regulation for sizing percentage. The sizing percentage online auto-control system has manual and automatic control mode. The operator changes the steam flow of direct and indirectly heated tube in manual control mode. According to the standard sizing percentage and the actual value difference. The control methods can use PID control in automatic control mode. According to the results of PID arithmetic, PLC controls the proportional pressure valve. The opening of pneumatic diaphragm control valve was controlled by the proportional pressure valve. It can implement the regulation for the steam flow of direct and indirectly heated tube. And the actual value and change curve of sizing percentage can be displayed on the touch screen. The sizing percentage is stable and control precision could be ensured in automatic control mode. It is considered that sizing percentage online auto-control and online show can be met with the system.
