This article aims to analyze the thermodynamic properties of energy transportation. Firstly, it explores the physical properties of the actual gas, the numerical relationships between the physical properties of actual gas and the temperature pressure are established. Based on specific consumption analysis theory and the second law of thermodynamics, the natural gas pipeline system as an example, this article establishes an entropy generation model of natural gas pipeline compression and transport system, calculates the irreversible loss distributions,.Besides each part of the entropy production are analyzed, Considering proper measures according to the amount and the proportion of each part of the entropy production.Secondly, the energy consumption evaluation index is established including the drive equipment, the whole pipeline transport system, through the calculation of each evaluation index of energy consumption, primary energy consumption reduced energy consumption in the second law of thermodynamics based on all aspects of the energy transport of coal consumption more intuitive. In the end, the energy consumption of the whole system is estimated by means of pipeline energy consumption. The results show that the energy saving potential of the pipeline is the largest and the energy saving potential of the pipeline is the most important. Therefore, it is the key to save energy and reduce the cost. Through the estimation of the energy consumption of the whole system and the analysis of every part of the system, it is important to maintain the efficiency and stability of the equipment, which is essential for reducing the energy consumption of the whole system. The content of this paper provides a theoretical basis for the energy saving and consumption reduction of natural gas pipeline transportation, and also provides reference index and evaluation method for judging the operation of natural gas pipeline system.
