At the beginning, people’s awareness of waste lubricating oil is not fully, that oil is a waste, so often are discarded or burned, it caused a great deal of wast. In recent years, oil resources are dwindling. Oil is an important strategic resource, from oil production oil yield is very low. Especially high viscosity heavy oil products yields even lower, only what percentage of processing crude oil. Refined oil products from crude oil, usually after a propane deasphalting, vacuum distillation, electro-desalting and dewatering, solvent refining and solvent dewaxing or hydrogenation refining,refined white clay or mixed additives, refined hydrogenation to add many sets of equipment, such as processing, to produce crude oil products. Due to the production process, processing complex, various equipment, construction investment is very large, so it is not easy to increase capacity quickly. Lubricants is hard, raw materials would be very valuable, and should therefore pay attention to lubrication oil.By continually refining used lubricating oil regeneration can be achieved turning, energy-saving and value of oil resources to the largest, most important is to reduce environmental pollution, preventing soil, water and air pollution to society have significant social,ecological and economic benefits. Using a reasonable amount of used lube oil regeneration technologies, selecting the appropriate catalyst have become important research of treatment of waste lubricating oil at home and abroad and research fields. Both at home and abroad have developed many of the recycling technology of refining used lubricating oil, but in the process, techniques and benefits vary.This article lists the representative of waste lubricating oil regeneration process at home and abroad, and the characteristics of each technology. For example, sulfuric acid-clay technology as the original process of refining lubricant, it has low production costs, the adva ntages of simple equipment, but serious pollution to the environment. Hydrofining technology widely abroad, has the advantage of less pollution, but preparation high, amount required, and is not suitable for domestic development. Low solvent refine process technology, the amount required is smaller, is more appropriate for out country, in our development process. In addition to flocculation processed, membrane technology processing, microwave heating treatment process refining used lubricating oil regeneration. Such technology has its advantages and weaknesses, suitable for different regeneration of waste lubricating oil refining.
