Power quality is generally refers to the deviation of the standard value of the parameters such as voltage,current amplitude, frequency,or wave pattern. In the past, many electromechanical equipment in power system can normally work under bigger variation range under above parameter.Nowadays,the coverage area of oilfield power grid is getting bigger,the internal structure is becoming more complex,the larger fluctuation of voltage,current can damage the equipment easily, or in a more serious situation to cause the interference to power grid.This paper is a basic research topic which is based on the problems of the power quality of Daqing Oilfield Power Grid,sorts out and investigates several key factors which affect the power quality of the oilfield power grid, compares several solutions at the same time,SVG device is the most effective solution for recommendation.This paper carries out the detailed research on SVG theory,compares the Advantages and disadvantages of the other reactive power compensation.This paper did the Simulation and example calculation on typical transformer substations, verified the improve effect of power quality after using SVG device.Run the analog simulation by using MATLAB simulation software on 110 kV transformer substations in Dohu Area,calculated adjust effect of major wave form after using SVG device.The multi factor calculation one 110 kV transformer substation which belongs to Zhaozhou Area had been done,calculated important data such as status data which is according to the running state data as backgound,reactive power compensation、busbar voltage、odd harmonic,the conclusion had been made.SVG device is able to run in a lager area,it has fast respond speed,it also can stop voltage flicker effective,big compensation capacity,compensation method is more flexible,it runs reactive power compensation,voltage compensation,negative sequence compensation,harmonic compensation and comprehensive compensation.It is also improve oilfield power quality effectively by using SVG device,it is suggested firstly to use the device in the important area in oilfield productivity priority.
