High-pressure Water Jet Cleaning Drill Pipe System Design And Nozzle Simulation

In oil drilling, the drill pipe is the core of the whole drilling tools. Drill pipe’s quality directly affects the cost of drilling and mine safety, in order to ensure the quality of the drill pipe, you must have flaw detection and repair for drill pipe. And to thoroughly clean the pipe before testing is an important premise to ensure the quality of repair.Domestic cleaning method of drill pipe are mainly "boiling method" and pickling or sand. There are many problems of these two kinds of cleaning methods, such as incomplete cleaning, pollution, energy consumption and so on. In order to solve these problems, ensure the cleaning quality of pipe, this paper explored the mechanism of water jet cleaning tool, established the related cleaning model, analysed the related parameters and properties of jet; with the structure characteristics of a drill pipe and the analysis of the scale’s nature, put forward a solution of drill pipe’s automatic cleaning, namely using high pressure water jet to clean drill pipe fully; completed the general layout of automatic cleaning system for pipe, completed the design scheme’s selection and the design’s calculation of main system in automatic cleaning device(automatic transmission line system, high pressure water jet cleaning integration system). By GAMBIT modeling, using FLUENT software,this paper resched the insid jet nature of nozzle, analyzed the influence of the jet velocity and pressure distribution inside the nozzle in different structural parameters(inner hole section shape, outlet diameter, V groove Angle, etc.), provided guidance for the design of the nozzle, maximized the availability of drill pipe automatic cleaning device.In conclusion, this article combined with the results of the high pressure water jet technology at home and abroad, summarized the advantages of high pressure water jet technology and its device, analyzed the parameters of the cleaning,carried out theoretical research for drill pipe cleaning; according to the characteristics of the drill pipe, put forward the development plan of high pressure water jet cleaning device; completed the design and optimization of structure parameters, solved the various problems of the drill pipe cleaning, ensured the quality of the drill pipe’s flaw detection and repair, effectively prolonged the service life of drill pipe, improve the economic benefits of the borehole.
