In 2014, the output of sea cucumber had reached 200, 000 tons. The lots of sea cucumber processing liquid were generated during the sea cucumber processing. It induced environmental pollution and waste resources when it was directly discarded. And the output of Undaria Pinnatifida(U. Pinnatifida) was 203,000 tons(dry weight) in China in 2014. Sporophyll was the by-product in U. Pinnatifida processing industry and was usually discarded because it was too hard to eat. But it was rich in nutrient, especially contained polysaccharide, which possessed bioactive function such as anti-coagulation, regulating immunity, antitumor, antiviral, and so on.Polysaccharide from sea cucumber liquid(PSCL) was prepared following the steps: acetone to degrease, double enzyme digestion to reduce protein, electrodialysis to desalinate, alcohol precipitation and freeze-drying. The amount of polysaccharide was 48.5%. The study indicated that PSCL mainly contained mannose, it might be a kind of glycoprotein. And it contained a large number of O-H and C-H bond. The PSCL possessed good scavenging ability for hydroxyl radicals, superoxide radicals, DPPH radical based on ESR spin-trapping method. Based on the study of mice feeding, in both of mice models, PSCL could significantly reduce the TC, TG, MDA content and could significantly improve CAT, SOD activity in the mice serum. And it had no significant effect on body weight of mice.In another side, Polysaccharide from the sporophyll of U. Pinnatifida(PSUP) was prepared following the protocol through water boiling, alcohol precipitation, calcium chloride to remove colloids, centrifugation, vacuum drying and decolorizing by hydrogen peroxide. The hypolipidemic activity of PSUP was analyzed with binding of sodium taurocholate method in vitro. The results indicated that it had good adsorption dynamics; it was fast for it to bide with bile acids, as it just took 20 min to reach 90% of the most biding amount. And the binding rate of PSUP with sodium taurocholate reached 98.18%, while the semi-binding concentration was 1.06mg/m L. Both of PSCL and PSUP possessed the relatively good hypolipidemic activity, it will be used as a kind of ingredient for functional food in future.
