Sandwich plate is a special kind of composite material structure, usually bonding made with a thinner panel and core material, and has the advantage of light quality,enough the stiffness and the strength, strong ability to resist buckling, fatigue resistance, sound absorption and insulation, etc. But so far, most studies focused on the honeycomb sandwich plate and the fiber reinforced composite material, research on new materials for the core material of sandwich plate work is too less. To this end,this paper uses the excellent mechanical properties of PA66 nylon as the core material synthesis of steel/nylon sandwich plate, and under the condition of quasi static and dynamic compression mechanical properties were studied. The main research contents and methods include:(1) The research of steel panel and nylon core were studied under the condition of quasi static tensile mechanical properties. The paper designed the quasi static tensile experiment scheme and measured the stress strain curve of steel and nylon material under the condition of quasi static tensile. For dynamic experiments and simulation study, through the experiment, we obtained many parameters of steel and core material, such as yield strength, elastic modulus and so on.(2) Based on the quasi-static compression experiment, we measured the stress strain curve of steel panel, nylon and different thickness of sandwich plate. The quasi static compression constitutive model of sandwich plate is obtained by curve fitting,the model is related to the thickness ratio of the sandwich plate, and in the range of thickness ratio 0.1 ~ 2 it has high accuracy, can be used to predict quasi static compression stress-strain constitutive relation, to guide the design and production of sandwich plate.(3) The study of the dynamic compression mechanical properties of steel/nylon sandwich plate. With the SHPB experiment from the laboratory of jiangsu university of science and technology, we studied and analysised the dynamic compression mechanical properties of core material, its panel, and sandwich plate, the experimental results show that the three are all strain rate sensitive materials, and the compressive yield strength increases with the increase of strain rate; And under the same strain rate,compress yield strength of steel/nylon sandwich plate was positively related to itsmaterial thickness ratio, but the upper limit is controlled by the material properties of the nylon material, in addition antiknock strength will be the same when different thickness of the panel welcomed to critical surface.(4) Based on ls-dyna finite element program for numerical simulation of the steel/nylon sandwich plate dynamic compression, focused on the effect of material sensitivity and the strain rate to the effect of dynamic mechanical properties of steel/nylon sandwich plate, and on this basis fitting the constitutive model of sandwich plate.
