China is in the period of rapid economic development, the demand of industries for coal resources is growing. Though a certain amount of work about research and design has been done with coal mining and transportation, the work to coal's dynamic mechanical properties is less. The strain rate of the coal is generally 10~103/s, study on the deformation and destruction of the coal in different strain rate, obtain its dynamic mechanical parameters, fully realize the dynamic mechanics characteristic of the coal, determine the related parameters by test, these all have more important theory and research significance. Constitutive model can be used to reveal the dynamic mechanics characteristic of materials more fully and the establishment of the constitutive relations of parameters also can be used for its numerical simulation, and those have more further guidance to the innovation of the mining equipment and technology. This paper tries to through the electronic pressureniversal testing machine to analyze uniaxial compression mechanics properties of the coal, study the features of the deformation and destruction of the coal under static load and find the stress-strain curve and to find the relationship between mechanical properties and physical properties. Split Hopkinsons Pressure Bar (SHPB) test system is very useful to do the test about the materials uner dynamic impact loading. Many research works have been done to reveal the properties of the rock, concrete and foam aluminum, but the study about the coal is very less. This paper tries to obtain some experience and regulation about the coal-samper's production or the methods and means to the test of the coal, also wants to reveal the features of the deformation and destruction of the coal under impact loading. With the help of the system, we want to get its typical stress time-history curves, strain time-history curves and stress-strain curve, combined with the theoretical analysis. We hope it can take some guide effect to the engineering practice and the establishment of the coal's constitutive model.Figure 47 table 6 reference 35...
