The underground mine tunnels have some features of various section shapes and complex structures and so on, it has important significance to apply virtual reality technology.in underground mine tunnels for enterprises’ production management and engineering teaching. In this paper, from the view of economic and safe production, the key technologies and the theoretical value of mine are deeply studied, and the virtual reality roaming system of mine is developed. The main research results are as follows:(1)Combined with the characteristics of underground mine and the advanced platform of virtual reality technology, an appropriate development process of virtual reality roaming system is put forward. And through the research of the virtual reality technology, the interactive function of the system is added.(2)Through the analysis of the differences in types of the mine section and intersection, designed and developed a plug-in based on Maya for generating the different mine tunnels and intersections, realizing the trapezoidal and arched tunnels’ formation and specially the cross tunnels can be at different angles. Meanwhile, researched and applied the Mapping technology in Maya, the simulation effects are greatly increased.(3)Analyzed the function structure and the process of the Unity3 D, and through the software of Unity3 D, adding the simulation effects and interactive functions for the completed models in the scene. Also,the collision detection is added which realizing the collision simulation in the real word. Real-time interaction was completed by using the roaming function.
