Slime is a kind of coal fine particles separated from coal washing. The using of it in circulating fluidized bed is very promising. There are many studies in this field of domestic and foreign. But the study on the combustion characteristics of slime is very little. So is the study on the combustion of slime blending other coals and sawdust.This paper studies on the combustion characteristic and kinetic characteristic of slime and blended coal by experiments aiming at these problems. The study is mainly divided into the following aspects.(1) This paper analyzed the quality characteristics of slime and its blended coal experimental samples, including lignite, bituminous coal and sawdust, studied the influence of coal quality characteristics by the blended coal.(2) This paper blended slime with coal to make an experimental samples, then conducted the combustion experiments, to study the influence of the combustion characteristics by the blended coal.(3) The slime and its blended coal experimental samples’ thermal analysis are conducted to probe the reaction mechanism and study the influence of activation energy by the blended coal.By experiments and analyses, the results show that the relationship between the ratio and the combustion characteristic of blended coal is linear, as well as the industrial analysis and the activation energy of blended coal. The properties of blending two samples are more different, the linear relationship is more obvious. With the increase of heating rate, the ignition points of the slime and the blended coal increase. But the increasing range decreases. The stable combustion characteristics are gradually weakened. The burning-out time is significantly shortened. The kinetic energy gradually decreases. For a blend of sawdust and slime, when the proportion of slime is lower than 90%, flammability, combustion stability and activation energy of blended coal are all greatly improved. The slime used in the experiments are bituminous coal and lignite, both of them are of high volatile matter, looser structure, they are more easier to fire relatively to anthracite, their most probable mechanism functions are all three dimensional diffusion functions. When blending the coal, the more different the blended samples are, the more changes and better effect the blended samples will be, it is also much easier to control coal properties by changing the blend ratio. It has a certain reference value for research of slime properties and its blended coal for the future.
