| Objective: To evaluate the indicationã€clinical effect and the clinicaltechnique of microendoscopic (MED) treatment of lumbar disc herniationwith lateral recess stenosis with or without the preservation of theligamentum flavum. Methods: Forty patients underwent single—segment MEDoperation, without ligamentum flavum preservation in30patients(GroupA),and with preservation in30patients(Group B).The two groups werecompared clinically after disc removal and the decompression of the nerveroot. Results: According to the results of two groups, ligamentum flavumpreservation technique was feasible under endoscope and helpful ingetting better clinical effect. Conclusions: MED operation withligamentum flavum preservation is safe and effective method for thetreatment of lumbar disc herniation with lateral recess stenosis. And ithas lots of advantages such as clearer surgical field, less trauma, earlyrecovery and lesser influence on the stability of the posterior structureof lumbar spine, moreover it can reduce postoperative scar and improveclinical effect. |
