Objective: To investigate factors affecting the prognosis in patients with Primaryhepatic carcinoma treated with transcatheter Hepatic arterial chemoembolization(TACE).Method: We retrospectively studied a data of105consecutive patients with Primaryhepatic carcinoma who underwent TACE treatment from January2003to June2010in our hospital.Analysing the factors including sex, age,HbsAg, liver function(Child’ssystem), tumor size and number,AFP, portal tumor thrombus, glisson integument, hepatocirrhosis, tumor type, pathological type. Kaplan-Meier model and log-rank testwere used in univariate analyses and Cox regression(Backward Wald) was used inmultivariate analyses, to identify prognostic factors for survival. Results: Using univariate analyses,12potential factors were analyzed and8of themwere found significant for survival.These8factors were liver function(Child’ssystem), tumor size and number,AFP, portal tumor thrombus, hepatocirrhosis, tumortype, pathological type. multivariate analyses revealed significant prognostic factorsas follows:tumor size,AFP, portal tumor thrombus, pathological type, hepatocirrhosis. Conclusion: In this study, tumor size,AFP, portal tumor thrombus, pathological type, hepatocirrhosis are the risk prognostic factors. To improve the therapeuticeffecticeness,an understanding of the factors affecting the prognosis is very helpfulfor the physician to select suitable. We must be strictly grasp the indication andcontraindication.
