Diagnosis And Treatment For Solid Pseudopapillary Tumor Of Pancreas

AIM: To explore the methods of diagnosis，treatment and prognosis for solidpseudopapillary tumors of pancreas and elevate its diagnosis accuracy and treatmentefficacy.Methods: Experience of diagnosis and treatment for solid pseudopapillary tumors ofpancreas in11patients form2005’s up to2013’s were retrospectively analyzed by us.Results: The study has counted the clinical data of11cases of SPTP. Women10people,1male, with an average of28.7, from24to48. All patients were single solidtumor appearance. The clinical manifestations of solid pseudopapillary tumors ofpancreas were varied.5patients saw doctor because of upper abdomen discomfort andthe remaining6case without any clinical symptoms, and saw doctor because ofmedical examination found pancreas space-occupying lesions. In our research groupSPTP patient, without any abdominal trauma or pancreatic disease, no history ofdiabetes, etc. All the patients underwent biochemical, blood amylase, fasting bloodglucose, tumor markers and imageological examination,3cases considered SPTP. Allthe11patients were treated by surgical methods.5patients got pancreatic fistula,1patient got input loop obstruction after PD and1patient got pancreatic pseudocyst.All the patients were followed up3to12months and no one got recurrence,metastasis, death or new complications.Conclusions:1.The pathogenesis and histogenesis of solid pseudopapillary tumors ofpancreas were not yet clear, more cases in young women, without typical clinicalmanifestations and with low morbidity.2. It is difficult to diagnosis the solidpseudopapillary tumors of pancreas before surgery, medical imaging offer a guidingsignificance for the diagnosis of it. Its diagnosis depends on the postoperativepathological examination.3. SPTP is a borderline tumor, with low malignant potential,which were located in different parts of pancreas. Surgical treatment is the only effective strategy. If patients with tumor metastasis, in the resection of primary tumorsat the same time with metastases.4. Most of the tumors of SPTP can be removedcompletely, so, many patients can get good prognosis with low recurrence, metastaticand death rate. Postoperative complications mainly include pancreatic fistula, acuteedematous pancreatitis, pancreatic pseudocyst, etc.
