Objective Comparison of the mammary areola incision and conventional axillary incisionunderwent thoracoscopic sympathectomy clinical effect for the treatment ofhyperhidrosis. Methods A retrospective analysis of2009June~2013June through mammary areolavideo-assisted thoracoscopic sympathectomy for palmar hyperhidrosis in58cases(Themammary areola incision group),Compared with conventional axillary incisionvideo-assisted thoracoscopic sympathectomy for the treatment of97cases of palmarhyperhidrosis(Subaxillary incision group), Comparison of two groups in the operationtime, hospital stay, complication rate, recurrence rate and patient satisfaction. Results All patients with palmar hyperhidrosis symptoms disappeared. No postoperativethoracotomy in both two groups, and no operation death. Two groups of patients with anaverage operation time(Bilateral sympathectomy) The mammary areola incision group (27.5±7.0)min shorter than the subaxillary incision group(38.0±10.0) min(P=0.031)。Conclusions Through periareolar incision and conventional axillary incisionvideo-assisted thoracoscopic sympathectomy for palmar hyperhidrosis were safe, effective. Compared with axillary incision group, the areola incision group had shorteroperation time, better wound postoperative cosmetic results, patient satisfaction aftersurgery is higher, but the periareolar incision is more suitable for chest wall is thin, lean male patients, and widely applicable to all patients with axillary incision.
