Objective To observe the expression of CD4+CD25+Foxp3+regulatory T cells (CD4+CD25+Foxp3+Treg) and T-lymphocyte subsets in peripheral blood of elder patients with Post Herpetic Neuralgia (PHN),and explore the significance of Tregs in development of elder patients with PHN.Methods The CD4+CD25+Foxp3+Treg and T-lymphocyte subsets (CD3/CD4/CD8) expressing were detected by flow cytometry (FCM) in43cases of elder patients with PHN and20cases of healthy control group.Result It is showed that the CD4+CD25+and CD4+CD25+Foxp3+Treg were significantly higher in the peripheral blood from elder patients with PHN than that in healthy control (t=5.725,4.951; P<0.01);and CD4+、CD4+/CD8+were significantly lower (t=3.304,3.880; P<0.01), while the CD8+was significantly higher than that in healthy control(t=2.937; P<0.05).Conclusions T-lymphocyte immunocompromised in elder patients with PHN, the occurrence of PHN is closely related to the increase CD4+CD25+Foxp3+Treg, and CD4+CD25+Foxp3+Treg may play a great role in the development of elder patients with PHN.
