Cynanchum saccatum W. T. Wang belonging to Cynanchum, was a perennial weed that was mainly distributed in the southwest of China. It’s root had removing heat to cool blood and hemostatic effect. Most of Cynanchum plants had medicinal value, such as antitumor, immunomodulatory, antioxidant, anti-inflammator y. Early years, C-21steroidal glycosides, alkaloids, flavonoids, terpenoids and benzene derivatives had been discovered in the plants of Cynanchum family. In recent years, it was reported that C. Cynanchum had anticonvulsive effect, and its effect was better than Cynanchum otophyllum Schneid. In order to provide reliable basis for future material basic research, we had studied on the antiepileptic active ingredient of C. Cynanchum, which was collected from Diqing Li jiang, Yunnan Province. The main results were summarized as below:1. The study on the chemical constituents of C. Cynanchum:On the basic of various chromatography and spectroscopic method,28compounds (1-28) were isolated and determined from Cynanchum saccatum W. T. Wang, including sixteen C-21steroidal glycosides (12-25,27,28), eight benzene derivatives (1-8), three organic acids (9-11), and one Lignans compounds (26). Among them, compounds (12,13,17-25) were new compounds, compounds (1-3,5-9,11,14-16,27,28) were isolated from this plant for the first time, and compounds26was isolated from the genus Cynanchum for the first time.
