| Background:In nature, there has been numerous environmental factors, which people areexposed through a variety of ways. The ionizing radiation is the most in-depth studyof environmental factors. Also, it is the first known environment factor damaginghuman sperm. With the development of society, a variety of wireless signalequipment and device appeared in people’s daily life and work increasingly, variousradiation pollution and damage was increasing. And, with the development of scienceand the updating of medical checking means, more and more of the X-ray diagnosticmethods applied in clinical, resulting different injury to the body. The malereproductive system is extremely sensitive to the radiation reaction.Chinesetraditional medicine is a great treasure. About70percent of the world’s population areusing medicinal plants. A growing number of medicinal plants have been shown tohave a significant role in radiation protection. Previous studies have found a varietyof traditional Chinese medicine monomers, such as icariin, puerarin, LBP, APS, etc,has a protective effect on spermatogenesis. Recently, researchers pay much attentionto resveratrol. With its wide biological activity, such as anti-tumor, anti-radiation, etc.Studies have shown that it has strong antioxidant activity in vitro。Therefore, it hasprofound significance in exploring depth research and mechanism. The present studyattempted to explore the effects of resveratrol on rat testicular damage by radiation. Methods:48healthy male Wistar rats were randomly divided into four groups. Group A(N=12) was the control group. Group B (N=12) was irradiated control group. GroupC (N=12) was low-dose RES aqueous gavage group. Group D (N=12) was high-doseRES aqueous gavage group. In addition to group A, other groups were localized by60Co-γ ray irradiation ofperineal region,to establishment spermatogenesis model. Group C was100mg/(kg.d)RES aqueous gavage, group D were given200ug/(kg.d) RES aqueous gavage. A,B groups were given the same dose of normal saline. Continuing gavage50days(equivalent to a rat spermatogenic cycle), the specimens from the testes of ratsspecimens, venous blood under sterile conditions. To determine the situation of spermatogenesis by the following indicators:1, testis pathologic;2, serum levels of sex hormones;3, mRNA levels and protein expression levels and so on.Results:Compared with the control group, the irradiated control group of rats elevatedserum levels of FSH and LH, and T levels decreased. The testicular tissue cell markerexpression levels decreased. Compared with the irradiated control group, FSH andLH levels decreased in rats in the experimental group, while T was increased, theexpression level of a marker of testicular tissue on the rise. In the control group, themarker mRNA and protein expression levels irradiated cells was significantly gavageirradiated group increased compared with the control group expression. But betweenthe low-dose group and high-dose groups showed no differences. Conclusion:The effect of resveratrol on testicular spermatogenesis in rats has a role inpromoting recovery. It is probably associated with improvements in the microenvironment of testicular and antioxidant effects. |
