ObjectiveTo Observe the prognosis of the patients after removal of intraocular silicone oiltamponade. To evaluate frequency and risk factors of retinal redetachment afterremoval of intraocular silicone oil tamponade.MethodsTo observe413patients (413eyes) with silicone oil filled eyes from June,2012toOctober,2012who underwent vitrectomy combined with silicone oil tamponadebecause of retinal detachment in our hospital. They all hospitalized in our treatmentgroup of Ophthalmology in The First Affiliated Hospital of ZhengzhouUniversity.Record all patients’ age, gender, disease diagnosis, visual acuity(Correctedvisual acuity before vitrectomy, removal of intraocular silicone oil tamponade andafter removal of intraocular silicone oil tamponade),properties of siliconeoil, removal methods of intraocular silicone oil tamponade, the time of silicone oiltamponade, the number of retinal surgeries, Silicone oil removal with and withoutcombined with retinal operation.Using Multivariate Logistic regression, to analysethe relation between Recurrent retinal detachment and influencing factors, Screeningof independent factors.ResultsCompared with before vitrectomy, corrected visual acuity of patients improvedafter removal of intraocular silicone oil tamponade,P<0.05, there was statisticalsignificance.In20of413(4.8%) patients, the retina detached after removal of siliconeoil.Primary disease: in13of145(8.9%) patients with ocular trauma, the retina detached after removal of silicone oil;in5of176(2.8%) patients with PVR,the retinadetached after removal of silicone oil;in2of76(2.6%) patients with PDR,the retinadetached after removal of silicone oil.Between the case group by grouptwoclassification data comparison: Rate of retinal redetachment after removal ofsilicone oil was higher in patients with ocular trauma,(P<0.05), the difference wasstatistically significant; Compared rhegmatogenous retinal detachment with PVRpatients with PDR patients with retinal detachment, rate of retinal redetachment afterremoval of silicone oil was no statistical significance(P<0.05).Age, gender, properties of silicone oil, removal methods of intraocular silicone oiltamponade, the time of silicone oil tamponade was independent of recurrent retinaldetachment after removal of silicone oil (P>0.05). Multivariate Logistic regressionanalysis showed that the poor corrected visual acuity, the number of retinalsurgeries, Silicone oil removal with and without combined with retinal operation wasthe influence factors of recurrent retinal detachment after silicone oil removal(P <0.05).Conclusions1Compared with before vitrectomy, corrected visual acuity of patients improved afterremoval of intraocular silicone oil tamponade.Compared with the removal of siliconeoil, corrected visual acuity after silicone oil removal is no significant difference.2In20of413(4.8%) patients, the retina detached after removal of silicone oil. Inprimary disease, Risk of rupture of eyeball with retinal was higher after removal ofintraocular silicone oil tamponade.3Poor corrected visual acuity, the number of retinal surgeries, Silicone oil removalwith and without combined with retinal operation was the influence factors ofrecurrent retinal detachment after silicone oil removal.Age, gender, properties ofsilicone oil, removal methods of intraocular silicone oil tamponade, the time ofsilicone oil tamponade was independent of recurrent retinal detachment after removalof silicone oil (P>0.05).
