Object: To evaluate the Application Status and value of reconstruction with implantor latissimus dorsi flap for patients with breast cancer. Methods:By collecting the clinical data of reconstruction with implant or latissimusdorsi flap in the Second Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University between June2012andJanuary2014,retrospective review of22cases with the reconstruction. And evaluate theapplication status of reconstruction for patient with breast cancer. Results: From June2012to January2014,there were22cases treatsd withreconstruction with implant or latissimus dorsi flap in the Second Affiliated Hospital ofSoochow University Breast Surgery. The time both of operation(3.82±0.84h vs4.45±0.48h)and hospitalization(6.3±2.0d vs10.8±1.9d) are shorter by using implant compared tolatissimus dorsi flap.Of the8cases who had undergone reconstruction with implant, onedeveloped local capsule contracture. And in autologous tissue reconstruction, there were6cases of seroma,1case of local infection,1case of local necrosis with SLNB false negtive,2cases of atrophy,1case of movement limitation. Conclusion: Reconstruction with implant or latissimus dorsi flap is especiallysuitable for oriental women with smaller breasts. To make objective cosmetic outcome andpatient satisfaction,it is necessary to measure breast volume and choose appropriateimplant. And the key of symmetry is using “suspension technique” to shape thesubmammary fold. Moreover, studies are needed to support sentinel lymph nodebiopsy(SLNB) before breast reconstruction.
