Objective:To explore the effect of xiao qing long decoction on the expression of TGF-β1and Smad3in the lung tissue of asthmatic Rats. Methods:24rats were divided into three groups including a control group(group A),8weeks of asthmatic model group(group B),8weeks of xiao qing long decoction group(group C),with8rats in each group. The chronic asthmatic model was established by repeated inhalation of ovalbumin. The airway eosinophilic inflammation of airway wall was observed; Wat and Wam were measured by image analysis system; the expression of TGF-β1and Smad3protein was determined by immunohistochemistry staining.Results:compared with group A, Wat and Wam of group B and group C were significantly increased (P<0.01),group C was lower than group B (P<0,01).protein expressions of TGF-β1and Smad3in group B and group C were obviously higher than group A (P<0.01), group C was lower than group B (P<0.01). Conclusions:xiao qing long decoction markedly reduce the airway inflammation is partly through regulating the expression of TGF-β1and Smad3in the lung tissue of asthmatic rats.
