Objective Microtubule associated tumor suppressor1(MTUS1) as a newtumor suppressor gene codes for Angiotensin II AT2receptor interactingprotein (ATIPs). Although the down-regulation of MTUS1promotes tumorcell proliferation, the affection of the expression of MTUS1in colorectalcancer metastasis was unknown. We collected the50cases of CRC patientsreceived radical resection confirmed by pathology at three positions (cancertissues (T), paracancer tissues and normal distal tissues) for studying thecorrelation between the expression of MTUS1and the lymph nodemetastasis in colorectal cancer. Methods Using fluorescence quantitative PCR detect the MTUS1genemRNA expression, Using western blot detect the the expression of MTUS1encoding proteins, Immune histochemical method determine MTUS1express positioning.According to the clinical date collected, the specimensare divided into two groups:lymphatic metastasis and without lymph notemetastases. Using statistical methods to analyze the difference of two groups to discuss the relationship of lymph note metastases and clinicaldate in CRC patients.Result With fluorescence quantitative PCR (qRT-PCR), Western blotand immunecytochemical staining, we found that the expression level ofMTUS1mRNA and protein in carcinoma tissues and adjacentnoncancerous tissues was significantly lower in the cases with the lymphnode metastatic CRC patients than that of the patients without lymph nodemetastasis (p<0.05).Conclusion Combining with clinical data, our pilot study indicated thatthe tumor suppressor gene MTUS1might play an important role in tumorlymph metastasis.
