| The new blood vessel formation (angiogenesis) is fundamental tomalignant tumors growth, invasion and metastatic dissemination. Severalstudies have shown that inhibiting some of the grow factors or receptorsassociated with angiogenesis signaling pathway can inhibit tumor growth. The anti-angiogenesis therapy has become one of the important methods inthe comprehensive treatment of malignant tumors recently. However,anti-angiogenesis therapy faces some challenges that hindered thedevelopment of angiogenesis inhibitors, such as: resistance ofanti-angiogenesis therapy, severe adverse effects due to long-termanti-angiogenesis therapy and no identified biomarkers to predicttreatment response. The following review describes the progress ofresearch on the key signaling pathways of angiogenesis, clinicalapplication of angiogenesis inhibitors, resistance mechanism, adverseevents and biomarkers of anti-angiogenesis therapy in tumor. |
