Objective:To analyze the clinical curative effect and incidence of adverse reactions of uterine fibroids and adenomyosis treated with high intensity focused ultrasound. Methods: Clinical data of pre and post treatment and followed up the1st,3rd,6th,12th month of130patients with uterine fibroids and adenomyosis treated with high intensity focused ultrasound at our hospital from January2009to September2012were retrospectively analyzed.Ultrasound,contrast-enhanced ultrasound, color doppler flow signal,MRI and cytolgical examination were be used to compare the clinical improvement of fellow up between pre and post treatment for the curative effect of uterine fibroids and adenomyosis, the size of myoma or uterus,contrast-enhanced ultrasound imaging, the flow and echo of inside lesions and the cell and tissue structrue of lesions. And the incidences of adverse reactions and complications of duration and after the treatment were analyzed. Results:After treatment,76cases of uterine fibroids and adenomyosis patients with increasing amount of menstruation were reduced to14.5%after12months after treatment;40patients of adenomyosis with dysmenorrhea were reduced to20%after12months after treatment. The uterine volumes of40patients with adenomyosis were significantly reduced(P<0.05),at the1st,3rd,6th,12th month after treatment, reduced by an average of11.1%,22.0%,29.4%and39.0%.The tumor volume of90patients with103fibroids were significantly reduced(P<0.05), at the1st,3rd,6th,12th month after Treatment, reduced by an average of45.7%,63.4%,74.3%and80.4%,respectively.After treatment there was no perfusion in the tumor, echo was enhanced and the color flow disappeared.Tumor cells were damaged and tissue necrosis changed after treatment. There was no severe adverse reactions happened during the treatment. Conclusion:HIFU is a safe and effective minimally invasive treatment for uterine myoma and uterine adenomyosis.
