| Purpose:The occurrence and development of the metabolic syndrome is closely relatedto the nutrient intake and the inflammatory cytokines. To provide scientific theoreticalbasis for preventing metabolic syndrome using ningxia Lycium barbarum by exploring therelationship between the nutrient intake and the expression levels of tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α), nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB),inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) with metabolicsyndrome and observing the effect of Lycium barbarum intervention on the expression levelsof TNF-α, NF-κB, iNOS in patients with metabolic Syndrome. Methods:â‘ Base on a cross-sectional study, using case-control study,119metabolicsyndrome subjects and119normal control subjects were selected by1:1case-control matchesand compared the differences in the expression levels of TNF-α, NF-κB, iNOS and thenutrient intake of the two groups using t-test and nonparametric test.â‘¡MS group of119people were divided into Lycium barbarum intervention group and control group usingrandomized controlled trial. Intervention group eat lycium barbarum10g/d and two groupswere conventional food and normal medication. The expression levels of the index of the twogroups were measured by ELISA at0day,30days,45days and75days. The expressionlevels of TNF-α, NF-κB, iNOS and the related factor of MS were compared at the differenttimes in the different groups by ANOVA.Results:â‘ Compared with control group, the frequency of physical exercise and thetime of outdoor activities were decreasing significantly in case group(P<0.05); Compared with control group, the intake of energy, protein, carbohydrates, niacin, phosphorus, potassium, magnesium and zinc were decreasing significantly in case group(P<0.05),and theintake of fat, vitamin E, sodium were increasing significantly in case group (P<0.05);②Compared with control group, the expression levels of TNF-αã€NF-κB and iNOS wereincreasing significantly in case group(P<0.05);③TNF-αã€NF-κB and iNOS had a significantdifference between two groups after administration for75days(P<0.05)ï¼›DBPã€FPG and TGhad a significant difference between two groups after administration for75days (P<0.05).Conclusion:â‘ The expression levels of TNF-αã€NF-κB and iNOS were increasingsignificantly in MS group;②Lycium barbarum could reducing the activation and expressionof TNF-αã€NF-κB and iNOS in metabolic syndrome;③Lycium barbarum could reducing thelevel of DBPã€FPG and TG in metabolic syndrome.Recommendations:Developing the health education and insisting the scientific healthybehavior and diet, that has positive meaning to prevent the metabolic syndrome. |
