Clinical Research Of Fuzhenghewei Formula On Chemotherapy Induced Nausea And Vomiting In Breast Cancer Patient (Weakness Of The Spleen And Stomach Type)

Objective To explore an integrative treatment of breast cancer to relieve the side eff ects of chemotherapy drugs and improve life quality in patients with breast cancer by observing the clinical effect of Fuzhenghewei(FZHW) Formula in treating chemothera py induced nausea and vomiting. The study compared the improvement of acute vomit ing,delayed vomiting,reaction of nausea and loss of appetite of the experimental group with the control group’s and evaluated the clinical effect by comparing the Traditiona 1 Chinese Medicine(TCM) symptoms objectively.Methods 60 patients with breast cancer,who needed chemotherapy of anthracycline an d cyclophosphamide in the first curse after operation,were divided into two groups ran domly with one curse of treatment as observation window.Each group contained 30 pa tients.The control group were given palonosetron hydrochloride for 0.25mg with 5ml n ormal saline and dexamethasone for 10mg by Intravenous injection to alleviate the acu te vomiting reaction in the first day. The experimental group took FZHW Formula pre scribed by our own department for 21 days on the basis of the control group. The co ndition of nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite in patients of each group was recorded o bjectively and regularly,besides the safety indexes of chemotherapy and the improveme nt of clinical symptoms. Finally,we sorted out the results,which were collected accordi ng to the patients, and analyzed the results statistically to evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of FZHW Formula.Results 1.There was no significant difference in baseline between the both groups(P> 0.05). 2.Evaluation of curative effect of the clinical symptoms: compared with the contr o1 group,the FZHW Formula could greatly alleviate the reaction of chemotherapy indu ced delayed vomiting(P<0.05), control the symptom of chemotherapy induced delayed nausea significantly(P＜0.05), and improve appetite in patients(P<0.05). 3.Evaluation of therapeutic efficacy of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) syndromes:the FZHW Form ula could improve the clinical symptoms in the peri-chemotherapy patients greatly(P<0. 05).4. Safety evaluation:the FZHW Formula can control the chemotherapy induced leu kopenia in breast cancer patients(P<0.05). The TCM didn’t curse much adverse drug r eaction and was more secure.Conclusion The FZHW Formula could ameliorate the gastrointestinal symptoms,promo te appetite, enhance immunity, improve living quality and increase confidence in defea ting the disease in breast cancer patients during chemotherapy.
