ObjectiveOur objective was to observe the clinical efficacy of Cervical vertebra exercise to the neck type of cervical Spondylosis(qi stagnation and blood stasis type), and to further explore the mechanism of exercises, to a certain extent, to provide reference and basis for preventing the cervical vertebra exercise in the treatment of cervical disease.MethodsPatients in this study were derived from patients who were diagnosed in neck cervical spondylosis(Qi stagnation and blood stasis type) in the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese orthopedic clinic from January 2014 to July 2014. A total of 100 patients were randomly divided into two groups, each of 50 cases, the treatment group were treated with cervical vertebra exercises and jingtong granule, the control group were only treated with jingtong granule (1 bag/time,3 times/day, after meals, four weeks for a course). All patients were followed up after four weeks treatment. All patients of those who were cured of two groups were followed up again 6 months, and we counted recurrence rate for both groups. We Observed VAS score, cervical dysfunction index (NDI) of two groups before and after treatment, and newcomer recurrence rate between the two groups within six months, and recorded adverse reactions. we used SPSS13.0 statisticalmethods for data processing and analysis, measurement data(as mean±standard deviation)using t test, count data using chi-square test. Confidence interval was 95%, when P<0.05, it represents the difference statistically significant.ResultsWhen the end of the study, we collected results of the assessment and follow-up results of the two groups of patients, and the two sets of data were statistically analyzed gave the following results:Firstly, experimental group before and after treatment VAS scores were 6.23 ± 1.23,2.06 ± 0.98, in the control group before and after treatment VAS score was 6.19 ± 1.33,4.96 ± 1.12, respectively. VAS scores of two groups before treatment was no difference. After the end of the course of treatment in both groups VSA score was lower than before treatment, the difference was statistically significant, which showed both treatments can relieve pain. Comparing the VAS scores after treatment between groups, P<0.05, there was a significant difference, suggesting that the test group can relief pain better.Secondly, NDI scores of treatment group before and after the experimental was 46.25 ± 9.25,15.74 ± 6.35, respectively, in the control group was 41.35 ± 8.76,28.65±8.54, NDI scores for before treatment of the two groups showed no difference in the two groups, After treatment, NDI scores of both groups was lower than before treatment. After treatment, there was a significant difference (P<0.05) between the two groups in NDI index, suggesting that the two groups of cervical dysfunction had been improved, while experimental group was significantly improved.Thirdly, the total effective rate was 93.75% of the test group and the control group was 78.72%, the total efficiency by comparing the two groups there was a significant difference (P<0.05), which prompted that efficacy of experimental group was better than the control treatment groups.Fourthly, after six months follow-up of patients, in the treatment group, the recurrence rate was 12.5%, while, in the control group, the recurrence rate was 42%, there was a significant difference(P <0.05), suggesting that the test relapse rate was significantly lower than the control group.ConclusionBy studying this subject,we may draw the conclusion of this study:Firstly, cervical vertebra exercise combination of jingtong granule had more advantage in relieving pain and improving function than only taking jingtong granule.Secondly, adhering to exercise can help reducing the recurrence of cervical spondylosis.Thirdly, cervical vertebra exercise does play a role in promoting the rehabilitation and reducing the recurrence of cervical spondylopathy (qi stagnation and blood stasis) with the advantages of simple, effective, economic and safety, so it worth further study and promotion.
