ObjectiveTo investigate TCM syndrome characters in elderly hypertension and pre-diabetes patient, and then explore the relationship between TCM syndromes and related risk factors.MethodsPatients who came from the affiliated Xinhui district traditional Chinese medicine hospital in 2012 to 2015 were interviewed. We made clinical investigation by retrospective investigation to registered the patients’ general state of health(name, sex, age, treatment history, etc), laboratory index(CHOL, TG, HDL-C, LDL-C, Cr, HCY), symptoms(vertigo, headache, palpitation, e tc), physical signs (tongue picture, pule condition, etc). Data were managed and statistically analyzed by SPSS 18.0. Factor analysis and Chi-square test and so on were adapted to tested distribution data.ResultsA total of 201 patients were enrolled,97are male(48.3%),104 are female(51.7%).From age part, the youngest is 60 year-old, the oldest is 93 year-old, the mean age is 72.3+8.8 year-old. Among them,91 are 60^69 year-old(54.3%),62 are 70-79 year-old (30.8%),48 are 80and more than 80 year-old(23.9%).23 are just impaired fasting glucose(IFG) (11.4%),126 are just impaired glucose tolerance(IGT)(62.7%),52 are both IFG and IGT(25.9%). According to Chi-square test(x2=84.21, P=0.00<0.05), the three groups were different. The variables which were symptoms and physical signs were included in the factor analysis.12 common factors were selected, whose characteristic roots were greater than 1. Some of common factors were the same, and had been united into one, and then 8 TCM syndromes were obtained. The 8 syndromes are dual deficiency of qi and yin syndrome(Fl, F3), yin deficiency with yang hyperactivity syndrome (F2), dual deficiency of yin and yang syndrome (F6, Fll), phlegm-dampness(F4, F8), accumulation of blood stasis(F5), irascibility(F10),qi deficiency(F7), yin deficiency(F9, F12).8 syndromes were divided into groups on the basis of factor score. The phlegm-dampness are 47 cases (23.4%),28 are dual deficiency of qi and yin syndrome (13.9%),27 are dual deficiency of yin and yang syndrome (13.4%),26 are accumulation of blood stasis(12.9%),25 are qi deficiency(12.4%),21 are irascibility(10.4%),15 are yin deficiency with yang hyperactivity syndrome(7.5%),12 are yin deficiency(6.0%). The difference of number has statistically significant according to Chi-square test, but both comparisons between the 8 syndromes about related risk factors have no statistically significant.ConclusionsMost of the patients is IGT, who are elderly hypertension and pre-diabetes.There are 8 syndromes in elderly hypertension and pre-diabetes which are phlegm-dampness, dual deficiency of qi and yin syndrome, dual deficiency of yin and yang syndrome, accumulation of blood stasis, qi deficiency, irascibility, yin deficiency with yang hyperactivity syndrome, yin deficiency. Among the 8 syndromes the phlegm-dampness are the most common syndromes in excess syndrome and combining yin deficiency are most in Deficiency^ syndromes. Unionizing inclusions is least, most of which is yin deficiency with yang hyperactivity. No differences exist in every syndromes about age, sex, blood pressure, heart rate, blood glucose, complication, laboratory index.
