As a kind of novel adsorbing material, microporous starch has been quickly aroused widespread attention because of excellent properties and multiple applications. The demand of it is with the rapid growth. Yet, currently, the systematic research of its preparation in large-scale is distinctly insufficient, which seemed to be the bottleneck restricting the industrializing development of microporous starch. Obviously, it is very necessary to develop the systemic technology research about pilot preparation of porous starch.The technology which is simple, excellent in product performance and has good economic benefits will has a profound impact to modified starch industry and bring great business opportunities to its closely related industries.This project chose potato starch as raw material, accompanied with corn starch as contrast. Series of contrast experiments and studies were carried out, including both of how to make the hole in starch granule through partial degradation under the function of amylase, and the influence of the factors of reaction. On the foundation of preparation in laboratory, the pilot preparation were launched under the condition of industry, the production process are confirmed and the quality controlled standards of products were drawn up.1 The research of preparation in laboratoryThe best preparation conditions of microporous potato starch in laboratory were confirmed after the study which were single-factor experiments. under these conditions, microporous potato starch was produced according to the scale from 20g to 5kg. The average yield (62.89%), the water and oil absorption of the productions were determined, the mean value of water absorption (136.31%) and oil absorption (55.65%) was 3.01 and 2.54 times compared with native starch respectively. moreover, the bibulous rate was better than corn microporous starch in laboratory.2 The research of the optimized pilot preparation flowUsing potato starch as materials, pilot preparations have been launched. Combining with the characteristics of pilot, the reaction conditions were gradually changed and optimized through replacing the enzymes, reducing the speed of mixing, controlling reaction temperature. Then, the optimized pilot preparation flow was set up and microporous potato starch was produced according to the scale from 20kg to 5000kg. The average yield was (62.71%), the mean value of water absorption (138.53%) and oil absorption (56.06%) was 3.05 and 2.72 times compared with raw starch respectively. the quality of products were stable.3 The research of quality controlled standardThe qualitative identification of the microporous starch were carried out by morphology observation. Through the determination of the water and oil absorption, the average yield, and the hydrolysis rate, the coter of the microporous starch were monitored. This research showed that those methods were accurate, simple, and reliable. They would can be used in the quality monitoring of microporous starch.The pilot study showed that it would be feasible to apply this technology in pilot production of the microporous starch. Because of its implements and operations are simple and easy to be controlled.
