| ObjectiveThis study, a simple thunder-fire moxibustion therapy for allergic rhinitis lung deficiency, is compared and contrasted with the therapy of the flixonase aqueous nasal spray, by the way of observation of the both treatments on declining the symptoms of sneezing, runny nose, nasal congestion, nasal itching.Through comparison of the condition of symptomatic improvement between before and after the treatments and the long-term efficacy after the treatment in two months, it evaluated the clinical efficacy of this simple the thunder-fire moxibustion therapy.MethodsThe study recruited total 60 patients with allergic rhinitis lung deficiency. It is divided into 2 groups by random, namely the treatment group (simple Thunder-Fire moxibustion group) with 30 cases and the control group (the flixonase aqueous nasal spray group) with 30 cases. Patients were treated with total 9 acupuncture points by thunder-fire moxibustion moxibustion with 3 methods which are â‘ bird pecking method, â‘¡ horizontal moxibustion and â‘¢ longitudinal moxibustion. The full treatment is 1 treatment per 3 days,5 treatments for one course and two continuous courses in total while Flixonase aqueous nasal spray is to spray into both nostrils twice every morning, four weeks as a full treatment. Then, the relevant information and data would be collected before and after the treatments. Statistical method by the software SPSS17.0 is applied.Results60 sample cases,30 in thunder-fire moxibustion group and 30 in flixonase aqueous nasal spray group respectively, were evaluated in this study. The efficacy results of the two above groups just after the treatments have no significant difference (P=0.6925), according to Ridit Analysis. However, the efficacy results of the two groups after 2 months the treatments had completed have significant difference(P=0.0018),according to Ridit Analysis. Therefore, it concludes that the treatment efficacy of thunder-fire moxibustion group is better than that of flixonase aqueous nasal spray.ConcluaionTo sum up, through the comparison on allergic rhinitis symptoms assessment and the feedback from clinical patients between the two groups, it confirms that the thunder-fire moxibustion therapy takes more advantages in the treatment of allergic rhinitis lung deficiency owing to its features on safety, effectiveness, no drug required, no pain and no side effect, etc. Promotion in clinical application is worthwhile. |
