Objective To investigate the distributions of four categories of chronic non-communicable diseases in one area of Anhui province. And to analyze and quantitatively evaluate the risk factors for hypertension of residents in this area. The aim is to set up quantitative evaluation model so as to provide scientific evidences for interventions as well as directing individuals to conduct self-assessment and self-monitoring.Methods The residents in 17 communities were randomly selected. With a resident or villager group as a cluster, a random sample from all residents aged over 18 years was selected in this area. According to the content of National Community Health Analysis Survey, the method of face to face questionnaire survey was used for chronic non-communicable diseases survey among 4877 residents in the community. After univariate logistic analysis of 11 variables that has possibility to affect hypertension, variables(with P value<0.05) were set into multiple factors regression analysis. The odds ratios of risk factors under different levels of exposure were calculated, and converted into risk scores and combined risk score. Results Resident’s morbidity of chronic non-communicable disease in this area ranked as follows: hypertension 15.05%, diabetes 4.59%, stroke 1.46% and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease 0.29%,respectively. Univariate factor analysis showed that age, gender, BMI(Body Mass Index, BMI), alcohol consumption, occupation, over-intake of salt, education degree, economic income and exercise frequency rate have relationship with hypertension(P value<0.05). The analysis also showed that male has a higher risk than female. Divided by gender, Logistic stepwise regression showed that age, over-intake of salt, excessive drinking and BMI were the main factors of hypertension. For male, the leading risk factors(age excluded) were BMI≥28.0(OR = 4.758), excessive drinking(OR = 2.540) and over-intake of salt(OR = 1.601), and the corresponding risk scores were 2.331, 1.966, 1.162, respectively. For female, the leading risk factors(age excluded) were BMI≥28.0(OR = 3.568), excessive drinking(OR = 2.381) and over-intake of salt(OR = 1.397), the corresponding risk scores were 2.016, 2.331, 1.315, respectively. Conclusions Residents suffered from various chronic non-communicable diseases, among them hypertension morbidity is No.1. According to the quantitative evaluation model for risk factors of hypertension, more scientific prevention and measures could be formulated. And the model would guide the quantitative assessment for individuals and propel self-care process, leading to a better health.
