| Objective: By analyzing the seropositivity of hepatitis B surface virus antigen(HBsAg) among entry-exit population in Suzhou area between2002and2012, the aims ofthe present study are to determine the distribution and epidemiological characteristics ofHBsAg seropositivity, and to provide the specific strategies for the hepatitis B preventionand control in entry-exit population in Suzhou area.Methods: The HBsAg detection results of entry-exit population were extracted fromthe database of physical examination of Suzhou Exit-Entry Administration Bureau. SerumHBsAg level was measured by commercial kit purchased from Kehua Biotech Company(Shanghai, China) according to the manufacture’s introduction. SPSS17.0software wasused for the data analysis and P<0.05was assessed as statistical significance.Results:(1) Between2002and2012,29001passengers went abroad from Suzhouarea were detected for HBsAg seropositivity, including16539males (57.03%) and12462females (42.97%). Meanwhile,66080persons entered into China in Suzhou area weredetected for HBsAg seropositivity, including50191males (75.95%) and15889females(24.05%). Compared to the persons went abroad, higher seropositivity of HBsAg wasdetected in the entry persons between2002and2012.(2)Among the people exit from the Suzhou area between2002and2012, nosignificant difference of HBsAg seropositivity between males and females. HBsAgseroprevalence determined in business persons (6.29%) were significantly higher thanthose in other occupational persons. In addition, the highest seropositivity of HBsAg inpeople is with40-50years old (9.85%). Between2002and2012, the people went abroadfrom Suzhou in2007has the highest seropositivity of HBsAg (4.98%).(3)Among the people inbound in China in Suzhou area between2002and2012, theseropositivity of HBsAg in males (6.70%) were significantly higher than those detected infemales (5.32%). Similar to the persons outbound from Suzhou, business people (8.65%) and persons within40-50years of age (10.19%) have higher seropositivity of HBsAg.Between2002and2012, the people inbound in Suzhou; China in2009has the highestseropositivity of HBsAg (8.79%). Moreover, HBsAg positive rate of Taiwan people washigher than the people from other regions.Conclusion:(1) Between2002and2012in Suzhou area, the positive rate of HBsAgin inbound people is higher than that in the people went abroad.(2)In order to prevent and control the hepatitis B virus infection in entry-exit persons,strict monitor programs should be conducted in the business people with40-50years ofage. Moreover, people from Taiwan region should also be specially monitored.(3) In order to decrease the seroprevalence of HBsAg in entry-exit people in Suzhouarea, the government should further better the laws and regulations, strengthen the actionsof monitoring, improve the technique level of detection, step up the activities ofpropaganda and education, promote the vaccination programs against hepatitis B virus andestablish other associated policies. |
