Renal Artery Slice Spiral CT Angiography, Related Anatomy Study

Objective:Through CTA’s study of renal artery and vascular variants relatedanatomy’s data, the purpose is for better clarity of renal arteryanatomy,complex variable classification,and classification of renalartery anatomy. For clinically relevant laparoscopic surgery,interventional treatment, kidney transplant anatomy data for needed.Materials and methods:Choice in November2008-January2010suspected kidney diseasechange and64layers of480cases were examined by spiral CT enhancedimage data, among which324were male, female156cases, ages18to82years old, average52.5years old, and use Toshiba Aquilion64layerspiral CT machine, the scan range for the diaphragm to the iliac crest.Observation of bilateral renal artery diameter, length, door edge distancefrom the upper pole of the kidney artery and locate the open position.Observation of bilateral adrenal artery diameter, length, and calculate therate. Observing renal artery variation types and each type of occurrences.Results:1. Left kidney length to diameter, wide diameter, and thickness weregreater than the right. Left kidney diameter103.205.02mm long, widediameter53.143.74mm, thickness49.166.02mm. The right renal lengthto diameter99.944.02mm wide, diameter50.465.48mm, thickness46.504.02mm.2. The inner diameter of the left renal artery is greater than the right, the length is less than the right.80.4%right renal artery open position ishigher than the left, an average of5.07±7.43mm.The left renal artery diameter5.080.70mm, length is44.464.72mm,renal door edge distance from the upper pole of the kidney arteries. Theright renal artery diameter5.240.71mm, length is53.416.08mm, renaldoor edge distance from the upper pole of the kidney arteries.3. Adrenal artery opening: the renal upper into the32, accounted for45.7%; Accounted for by renal lower into the25,35.7%; By renal aroundthe door in13cases,18.6%. The left adrenal gland artery diameter2.640.6mm, length is44.783.6mm, appearing rate42.40%. Right adrenalartery diameter2.580.4mm, length is46.764.2mm, appearing rate41.15%.Renal artery variation type statistical results Ⅰ class variation A:422, B: C:41,46, D:1, E:2. Ⅱ class variable A:3, B: C: D:0,0,1, E:0.Conclusion:1. The position of the left kidney in the majority of people are allhigher than that of right kidney, but not all the left kidney of people arehigher than their right kidney,especial for clinical, surrounding the kidneysurgery is more important.2.Renal artery variation level is bigger, in preoperative renal CTAexamination can clearly renal artery variation situation, so as to avoidintraoperative injury.
