Since the20th century, science, technology and our society have made greatprogress. Over the recent decades, with the rapid growth of the electronic technology,our human beings have entered the information era. The development and application ofthe wireless communication technology and wireless sensor network technology haveprovided us with emerging idea and methods in the field of medical monitoring. Thosetechnologies have been widely adopted in the medical monitoring field, includingdistant medical care, physiological parameter acquisition for patients etc. Thosetechnologies applied in medical field have played a vital role in raising the quality ofmedical monitoring and upgrading the medical care system in our country.This paper mainly points out a wireless transmission method applied in medicalmonitoring. Traditionally, the medical monitoring systems check the vital signs of thepatients by fixed medical monitoring equipment and enable the medical staff to makethe rounds of the wards daily based on fixed timing points to collect the physiologicalparameter of patients by the way of wire transmission of the system. This paperprovides a new method. This method applies wireless transmission and collectsphysiological parameter of patients through the node of the physiological parametersensor. Transmitting the data into the computer can raise the efficiency of medical staffand collect the more accurate physiological parameter when the patients are easy.This paper mainly researches the design project of the automatic monitoringsystem for patients’vital signs by ZigBee communication technology. After the analysisof the feature and topological structure of ZigBee technology and the consideration ofother factors such as the hospital environment and the coverage arrangement, thenetwork need to be put in place in the form of Mesh Topology. This system chooseCC2430with the module of processor and wireless transmission function as the coreprocessor after analysis of the ZigBee chips, and transmit the physiological parameter ofvital signs collected by the sensor node to the CP of the monitoring and controllingcenter through a serial port. If there are abnormalities in the physiological parameter, thewarning system will work so as to enable the medical staff more rapidly to notice theabnormalities of patients and give better treatment, and to prevent the severeconsequence caused by doctors who have not got the instant information and data of patients. The automatic monitoring system for patients’ vital signs consists of dataacquisition and processing, data dispatch and transmission, data management ofmonitoring and controlling center, and warning system. This paper is to elaborate onthis system based on the aspects mentioned above.The automatic monitoring system for patients’ vital signs researched in this paperallows patients to conduct free activities in some relevant ranges and can monitor therelated physiological parameter when patients are easy. When patients have someabnormalities, medical staff can instantly and rapidly check the physiological parameterwhich ease the working load and working procedures of medical staff. Moreover, theautomatic monitoring system for patients’ vital signs research can not only ease thepsychological burden of patients, but also keep all patient a happy mood who can beimmune from the impact of wire monitoring, which greatly helps the recovery ofpatients.
