Since the 21st century, with the development of society and economy, the changes of population structure and people’s lifestyle, chronic diseases have replacedinfectious diseases to become a major public health problem that affect and threaten people’s health and the quality ofpeople’s life.According to the fifth national health service survey,by the end of 2013,the prevalence rate of chronic diseases in China’s urban and rural areas has reached 33.1%.Meanwhile,the death toll that caused by chronic diseases directly or indirectly has occupied 85%of all deaths.And,the financial burden,the psychological burden to society,the families and the patients is constantly increasing. According to statistics from China Health Statistical Yearbooks in 2002,we can find that more than one third of the global deaths can be attributed to unhealthy lifestyles such as smoking, alcoholism, drug abuse,lack of exercise and poor diet.Atthe sametime,a research report that published by WHO in 2005.it clearly pointedout that the unhealthy diet, lack of exercise, smoking, alcohol and other unhealthy lifestyles are the main reasons that cause the morbidity and mortality of chronic diseases increase much faster.It explains that people can through establishing a healthy lifestyle to reduce or delay the occurrence of chronic disease.Then,it can maintain peopele’s health and reduce the burden that causde by chronic diseases.Of course,the establishment of a healthy lifestyle thatneeds the improvement of people’s health knowledge and health awareness. However, if only rely on health education that can’t change the lifestyle of patients with chronic diseases.Therefore,the theory of health literacy becomes extremely important.This is because that it provides a new research ideas and strategies to solve the question.The main reasons that the health literacy as an important factor to predict the health of the population,itcan compensate for the lack of health education in changing individual health lifestyles. Especially, it can improve the people’s ability of acquiring, understanding and making the right health decisions.Based on the above background, this paper thoroughly analyzes and researches the correlation between health literacy and healthy lifestyle of the residents.First,on the base of running through the research achievement on the development process, theoretical content, assessment methods of health literacy and healthy lifestyle,and the relationship between health literacy and health lifestyle,it puts forward the concept model and research hypothesis that health literacy effects the healthy lifestyle of patients with chronic diseases. Second,it takes the residents in Maqun communityof Nanjing cityas the empirical research objectand uses the SPSS 19.0 to evaluate the reliability and validity of the scale on health literacy and healthy lifestyle.Then,it uses confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation model analysis by LISREL. The results of the study indicate that health literacy has positive and direct impact on the lifestyle of the residents, and the effect is more obvious.Finally, based on the research of empirical analysis, the article, from the perspective of the promotion of the health literacy, proposes to corresponding measures and suggestions on the establishment of healthy lifestyle for community patients with chronic disease, in particular, it can improve the health literacy in patients with chronic disease from the three aspects, to strengthen the attention to health literacy of people with chronic disease from government, community, individual., to make knowledge and behavior health literacy to play a key role in the healthy lifestyle these patients, to monitor and evaluate health literacy, and ultimately promote the formation and establishmentof the healthy lifestyle.
