| Objective:To observe the clinical curative effect of modified Ten Wonderful Tonics on cancer related fatigue(CRF); also to discuss the advantages of TCM treatments of CRF.Methods: Sixty seven cancer patients, who were admitted to Shandong Provincial Hospital of TCM from September, 2013 to December, 2014, were chosen source patients. Sixty of them satisfying the adoption standards were randomly divided into control group and experimental group. Each group has 30 samples. Patients of control group were treated with best supportive care including cancer treatments, cancer related complication treatments and rehabilitation treatments(such as nutritional support, cancer related pain management, infection control, anemia treatment and neutropenia treatment). Patients of experimental group were treated with best supportive care integrated with modified Ten Wonderful Tonics according to the insufficiency of Qixue. The curative effects are evaluated after two treatment cycles. We record the data before and after the treatments,such as clinical symptoms, Piper Fatigue Scale score, immunity examination(T cell subtypes examination, NK cell activity examination),blood examination, pain test,sleep quality and KPS scores. Finally, these data was analyzed with the help of software SPSS18.Result:Compared to control group, the treatments of experiment group has advantages as:1. Clinical symptoms of shortness of breath, Mental fatigue, physical fatigue and lazy to speak are alleviated; 2. The levels of pain are decreased;3. The sleep qualities are increased;4. The KPS scores are increased;5. The hemoglobin densities of blood are increased;6. The immunizations(T cell subtypes, NK cell activity) are improved;7. The Piper Fatigue Scale scores(PFSs) of patients are decreased significantly. The treatment results of experiment group are better than control group(P <0.05).Conclusion:Symptoms of CRF were alleviated with the treatment of modified Ten Wonderful Tonics. The life qualities of the patients were increased. The treatment of CRF with modified Ten Wonderful Tonics was worth popularizing. |
