The Clinical Study Of Electro- Acupuncture Com Bined With Root Pain Mixture Therapy On Cervical Spondylotic Radiculopathy

Objective: The objective of this clinical study is to observe the effe ct of electro-acupuncture combined with Root Pain Mixture thera py on Cervical Spondylotic Radiculopathy,and to explore its mec hanism,which provides feasible bases for clinical application.Method: 75 cases of CSR patients from inpatient and outpatient of a cupuncture department in Wuhan integrated TCM and western medic ine hospital,were randomly divided into three groups: treatment group,25 cases,therapy with electro-acupuncture combined with root pain mixture; control group1, 25 cases, only therapy with electro-acupuncture;control group2,25 cases(with one case dropp ing out of the study),only therapy with root pain mixture by or al.6 days for one course and 2 courses in all,with one day rest between 2 courses.Before and after treatment,the pain scores w ere recorded,the symptoms and signs scores of each patient were evaluated,the level of SP in serum were measured.and then anal ysed.Results1.Comparison of pain scores:There were no statistical difference among three groups before treatment in VAS scores comparison(P>0.05).The change of VAS scores before and after treatment in each group,there were significantly statistical difference(P<0.05). And after treatment,treatment group was obviously different compared with control groups(P<0.05),but there was no statistically difference between control groups(P>0.05). Result:2.Comparison of the symptoms and signs scores:There were no statistical difference among three groups before treatment in the symptoms and signs scores comparison(P>0.05).The change o f the symptoms and signs scores before and after treatment in e ach group,there were significantly statistical difference(P<0.05). And after treatment,treatment group was obviously differen t compared with control groups(P<0.05),but there was no statis tically difference between control groups(P>0.05).3.Comprehensive clinical efficacy comparison:Treatment group, 25 cases were treated,the total effective rate was 96%; Control group 1,25 cases were treated,the total effective rate was 68%;Control group 2,24 cases were treated,the total effective rate was 66.7%.Comparing treatment group with control groups,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05),but there was no statistically difference between control groups(P>0.05).4.Comparison of the level of SP:There were no statistical difference among three groups before treatment in comparison of the level of SP in serum(P>0.05).The change of the level of SP before and after treatment in each group,there were significantly statistical difference(P<0.05).And after treatment,treatment group was obviously different compared with control groups( P<0.05),but there was no statistically difference between control groups(P>0.05).Conclusion: 1.Electro-acupuncture combined with root pain mixture by or al therapy on CSR is an economic and effective treatment,with o bviously analgesia,remakable effect,safety and reliability,dese rving to clinical use widely.2.The clinical effect of electro-acupuncture combined with root pain mixture by oral was better than control groups,illustrating that comprehensive treatment was superior to monotherapy.3.Electro-acupuncture combined with root pain mixture by oral can reduce the level of SP in serum,it may be one of its effective mechanism of treatment on CSR.4.Root pain mixture,the experience prescription of my mentor,is worth being further studied in order to benefit more CSR patients in clinical application,with its efficiency and safety.
