Macrophage is an important class of immune cells, it plays a protective role in body by phagocytosis of pathogens. BDSF from bacteria is a small short chain fatty acid. The effect of BDSF on phagocytosis of fungal pathogen Candida albicans by RAW264.7 cells was studied in vitro through the microscope observation. RAW264.7 morphological changes and the process of macrophage phagocytosis on C. albicans was observed under the confocal microscopy. The effect of BDSF on RAW264.7 was analyzed in anticancer activity by Wright Giemsa staining method and quantitative detection ELISA kit. The change of proteomics was calculated by using iTRAQ proteomics technology. The inhibition of BDSF analogue ATCs on C. albicans was estimated in vitro. The experimental results showed that BDSF significantly enhanced the phagocytosis ability of macrophage phagocytosis on C. albicans, and it enhanced the ability of macrophages to kill cancer cells and the secretion of TNF-α. iTRAQ results showed that BDSF promoted the expression of RAW264.7 protein. ATC-C8 and ATC-C10 at the concentration of 200 μM could effectively inhibit morphology change of C. albicans from the yeast to hyphal and promote to shorten C. albicans hypha.
