| Objectives Evaluating the carotid artery elasticity of H-type hypertensive patients by using echo tracking technology. To examine the correlation between these elastic parameters and blood pressure, lipid, glucose, plasma homocysteine. To discuss the affecting on carotid artery elasticity by the above factors. Methods 1. A total of 95 H-type hypertensive patients and 63 hypertensive patients without complication and were recruited form September 2013 to December 2014 at Affiliated Hospital of He Bei United University as the case group. Over the same period,65 cases of healthy people were recruited as the normal control group. 2. Blood pressure, fasting detect plasma homocysteine(Hcy), the Triglyceride(TG), Low density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C), Blood glucose(GLU) were measured in all enrolled patients. At the same time, general information of the patients was collected. All patients underwent conventional carotid artery ultrasound and confirmed no evidence of atherosclerotic plaque and vessel stenosis. Using ET technique, elastic parameters of both common carotid artery were obtained including: β, Ep, AC and PWVβ. All the value and images were recorded. 3. Statistical analysis was performed with SPSS(17.0) statistical analysis software, count data were compared by Chi-square test.Multiple sets of measurement data were compared with one-way ANOVA test. LSD test was used for further comparison between groups. Pearson correlation analysis was used for correlation analysis between two factors. The multi-factor correlation analysis was performed by multiple linear stepwise regression. There was statistical significance(P<0.05).Results 1. Carotid elasticity parameters PWVβ, β, Ep of H-type hypertensive patients and pure hypertension group were higher than the normal control group, AC is lower. The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05). This shows that carotid artery elasticity of the case group decreased, and in H-type hypertensive patients lower. 2. Pearson correlation analysis between H-type hypertension and various indicators: β, PWVβ, Ep positively correlated with SBP, DBP, HCY, CHOL, TG, LDL-C, GLU negatively correlated with HDL-C. AC negatively correlated with SBP, DBP, HCY, CHOL, TG,LDL-C, GLU, had no correlation with HDL-C; AI positively correlation with SBP, DBP,HCY, TG, GLU, had no correlation with CHOL, LDL-C, HDL-C. 3. β, PWVβ, Ep, AC,AI were used as the dependent variable, while SBP, DBP, HCY, CHOL, TG, LDL-C,GLU, HDL-C were independent variable. Stepwise regression analysis showed that SBP,HCY, GLU, LDL-C, CHOL and TG were risk factors of β, SBP, DBP, HCY, GLU,CHOL and TG were risk factors of EP, SBP, DBP, HCY, HDL-C, CHOL and TG were risk factors of PWVβ, SBP, DBP and TG were risk factors of AI. It’s showed that blood pressure, blood lipid, blood glucose were main risk factors that result in the decline of carotid artery elasticity. Conclusion: 1. Carotid elastic parameters of H-type hypertensive patients are decreased.2. SBP, DBP, Hcy, CHOL, TG, LDL-C, HDL-C and GLU are the risk factors that result in the decline of carotid artery elasticity. 3. ET technology has certain advantage in the quantitative evaluation of carotid elasticity in patients with H-type hypertension. |
