Objective To research for the early diagnostic value of ischemia-modified albumin(IMA) for acute myocardial infarction(AMI) by mini swine myocardial infarction model established by coronary embolism with gelatin sponge. Methods Sixteen mini swine models of AMI were established, obtuse marginal branch coronary arteries were embolized by gelatin sponge. The variation laws were observed by continuously measuring of IMA at the preoperative and 10,30 minutes, 1,2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 12, 24, 48 hours respectively. At 1,3,5,7,10 days after the AMI model preparation, the swins were sacrificed and specimens of the myocardium were taken for histopathological examination.Result The models of myocardial infarction were successfully established in fifteen of the sixteenswines.AMI were confirmed by dynamic changes of electrocardiography、cardiac specimens and histopathological examination. IMA were obviously stepped up and presented dynamic changes in all porcine.IMA began to rise after 10 minutes and arrived the highest plasma concentration after 6 hours, returned to normal gradually after 48 h,the level of serum IMA had significant change compared to before surgery(F=1.019×104,P<0.01).Conclusion Mini swine modelsof myocardial infarction could be established successfully by coronary embolism with gelatin sponge,IMA is early sensitive maker for myocardialischemia, the detection of serum levels of IMA may have some value in early diagnosis and treatment of AMI.
