Objective: To evaluate toxic and side effects in the chemotherapy of gastroenteric tumor patients of accepting compound sophora injection. Methods: 80 cases with primary gastrointestinal malignant tumor were randomly divided into two groups(each group,n=40). all patients were treated with chemotherapy including oxaliplatin, fluorouracil and calcium foliate(FOLFOX4 project) and with metoclopramide commonly. The experimental group was received intravenous infusion of 12 ml compound sophora injection additionally during the period of chemotherapy, once a day,5days. The control group was treated with chemotherapy alone. The gastrointestinal reaction during the period of chemotherapy and myelosuppression after chemotherapy were observed. Results: The leukocyte count(4.18±0.93×109/L)in the experimental group after chemotherapy is significantly higher than the control group(3.65±0.63×109/L).There was statistically significant difference between two groups(P < 0.05). The platelets count(163 + 44.7 ×109/L)of the experimental group after chemotherapy, compared with the control group( 156 + 49.6 ×109/L)has no significant difference(P > 0.05). The incidence of gastrointestinal reaction in the experimental group was 60.00%(24/40) as compared with 82.50%(33/40) of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). Conclusion:Compound sophora injection could reduce myelosuppression and gastrointestinal reaction caused by chemotherapy, provide choice for clinical adjuvant chemotherapy.
