| Objective To investigate influential factors of self-management behavior levels in asthmatic children. Find out the effects of family environment and family function on bronchial asthma control. To provide method for the asthma self- management.Methods Totally 120 asthmatic children(4—11 years old)who visited our hospital between Aug. 2013 to Feb. 2014 were enrolled and their se1 f management behavior level was studied with self-designed scale, Family Functioning Scale, Family Environment Scale and Childhood Asthma Control Questionnaire Test.Results1. Multiple liner regression analyses showed that the educational level of the mother, income, disease course and residence were important factors for asthma control. Mother education level and family income were different in the total table scores and disease medical management scores.2. Besides achievement orientation, the factors of cohesion, expressiveness,independence, intellectual-cultural orientation, recreational orientation,moral-religious emphasis, organization in Family Environment Scale was significantly different among the three groups. The expressiveness, active recreation orientation in the uncontrolled group was significant lower than those in the partly controlled group and in the completely controlled group,while conflict and control in the uncontrolled group were at a high level(P <0.05).The intellectual-cultural orientation was lower in the partly controlled group, while conflict were at a high level(P <0.05).The family function of the controlled groups was better than the uncontrolled group. The family function of the completely controlled group was the best.3. Pearson’s correlation analysis showed that Childhood Asthma Control Test(C-CAT) scores were negatively correlated with the factors of conflict and control;C-CAT scores were positively correlated with the factors of cohesion,expressiveness, independence, culture, entertainment, moral religion, organization; C-CAT scores were negatively correlated with the all the factors in the FAD.Multiple liner regression analyses showed that the expressiveness factor, recreational orientation factor and the control factor of FES scale, the affective involvement factor and the behavior control factor of the FAD scale were important factors for asthma control in the children.Conclusion Mother’s education level, good economic conditions of the family, long diease course and live in the urban areas are good things management of asthma in children of the family.2. The factors of family environment and family function have significantly effect on the asthma control. We should pay attention to study the family factors and to help parents improve the family functioning and improve the home environment. |
