Objective:To study the relationship between scoliosis of degenerative lumbar scoliosis with stenosis with radicular pain. Methods:From January 2009 to January 2014,100 patients with degenerative lumbar scoliosis with stenosis with nerve root disease(33males and 67females)were retrospectively analysed, whose average age was 64.3 years old and from 50 to 81 years old. The responsibility of intervertebral space, parts and segments of pressed nerve roots and the lateral bending of the main bending were determined by The symptoms and signs, physical examination, imaging examination. The lumbar scoliosis Cobb angle was measured and JOA score and ODI questionnaire score of the low back pain were statisticed, and the same to the last follow-up.Results:1.The preoperative Cobb angle was 19.13 ° ± 8.03, JOA score was 10.84 ± 3,35, ODI questionnaire score was 36.09±1.38,and at last follow-up, 8.07°±2.64, 23.54±2.73,7.19±0.85,and there is significant difference of each index between preoperation and postoperation(t=14.55,t=31.19,t=192.56,p<0.01). 2.In this study, the nerve root is L3(17, 7.5%), L4(78, 35%), L5(109,49%), S1(20,8.5%), L3, L4, L5, S1 nerve roots at the side of the concave side were 9, 54, 35, 8, located in the convex side were 8, 24, 74, 12, L4 root located in concave side of scoliosis more,L5 root located in convex side of scoliosis more(118.252x?,p<0.001), L4, L5 nerve roots compression were more than L3, S1 nerve roots(107.1092x?,p<0.001).4.There was no statistical significance between symptoms and the main scoliosis(814.32x?,p>0.05)and compensatory scoliosis(324.12x?,p>0.05).Conclusion:Nerve root compression of degenerative lumbar scoliosis associated with of spinal canal stenosis is complex and changeable, L4 nerve root located in concave side more,L5 nerve rootlocated in convex side more, there was no correlation between distribution of L3, S1 and direction of scoliosis. There was obviously relationship between the apical vertebra and the direction of scoliosis, apical vertebra is located in L3 and convex to the left more.According to the clinical symptoms, selective correction of the principal bending or compensatory bending is essential, and it is also conductive to improve the long-term quality of life in patients.
