Objective: To investigate the status of cancer pain and the usage of Complementary and Alternative medicine and evaluate the nursing outcomes of psychosomatic therapy of Complementary and Alternative medicine among gynecological cancer pain patients. Method: Thirty-one patients with cancer pain were investigated with self-designed questionnaire in the Gynecology Department from the tertiary hospital. Twenty-one of them received psychosomatic therapy of Complementary and Alternative medicine. Before and after the intervention, their vital signs, subjective sleep and emotional states, the score of cancer pain in 5-points Likert-type scale were evaluated repeatedly. Results:1. The average score of age was(51.23 ± 11.34), the youngest patient was 23 years old. During the period of cancer, 54.80% of the average degree of cancer pain was mild, 77.4% of the most severe degree of cancer pain was severe. 51.56% of the patients experienced two or more parts of the pain, 75.47% of the cancer pain was pelvic pain, 72.72% was dull pain.2.The higher the degree of cancer pain was, the worse the subjective sleep quality was(P<0.05).3. 25.81% of the patients used complementary and alternative medicine methods to treatment cancer pain, 75% of them considered that the methods were effective.4. After the intervention, patients describe the subjective sleep and emotional states improved, while the heart rate, respiration, diastolic blood pressure decreased and the score of cancer pain in NRS and 5-points Likert-type scale at 4 points(immediately, 30 minutes, 1 hours, 2 hours after intervention) increased(P<0.05). Conclusion:1. Patients with gynecological cancer increasingly younger, their cancer pain was severe and mostly was pelvic pain and dull pain.2. Patients’ subjective sleep quality was affected by cancer pain.3. Complementary and Alternative methods might mitigate cancer pain but their usage were low.4. The psychosomatic therapy of Complementary and Alternative medicine could improve the subjective sleep, emotional state and the nursing outcomes of cancer pain among gynecological cancer pain patients.
