| Objective:By comparing the life quality of patients with advanced malignant tumor before and after receiving hospice care, this study is to analyze the effect of hospice care on the well-being of them, and also explore those factors in determining their life quality,so as to provide evidence for improving the quality of life for the patients with advanced malignant tumor. Methods:This study invited a total of 80 patients with advanced malignant tumor to participate the study. These patients were hospitalized by the Section of Hospice Care at one Hospital of Changchun City from August 2010 through July 2013. Drawing on the Status Karnofsky performance(KPS) score table and the questionnaire used in “ Jiacheng foundation for the quality of life in the national health care plan â€, we collected data from the participants at two time points when they received hospice care before and after a month. Data were analyzed by using SPSS17.0. Descriptive statistics, Paired-sampled T-test to analyze the collected quantitative data on the patients’ life quality.Spearman rank correlation analysis were used to analyze the correlation between survival period, survival quality, KPS and the quality of life, thus evaluating the effects of hospice care. Wilcoxon rank sum test was used to compare the survival quality of patients by different sex, age, marital status, the degree of knowledge, and the type of disease. Research results:1 the life quality of patients with advanced malignant tumor received hospice care before and after treatment, the T value of-4.306, P < 0.00 l, there were significant differences.2 in the quality of life assessment of the table, the spirit, fatigue, pain, daily life and total score were statistically significant(P < 0.05). After receiving hospice care, the score of understanding and cooperation from the colleagues, their own to the disease,the ’expression’ is lower.The scores of the other items are higher than before. 3 for the patients with advanced malignant tumor, different gender, age, marital status, education level,occupation range, major life care, religion were not statistically significant to the quality of life.4the quality of life in patients with advanced malignant tumor was positively correlated with KPS score(P<0.0001).Research conclusion:1 The quality of life in patients with advanced malignant tumor is generally low. 2 after receiving hospice care, the life quality of patients with advanced malignant tumor has improved significantly. 3 for the patients with advanced malignant tumor, hospice care can relieve fatigue effectively, reduce pain, improve their mental outlook and daily life, in order to improve the quality of life. 4 different gender, age, marital status,etc.with the patients with advanced malignant tumor were not significantly different to the quality of life. 5 There was a correlation between the KPS score and the quality of life in patients with advanced cancerand. |
