ObjectiveBased on theories such as quality of life,basic medical institutions,hospice care,and traditional Chinese medicine,taking rural township hospitals of Shengzhou as the study area,take the medical staffs and rural residents as the main informant,investigate the situation of knowledge and attitudes towards hospice care,find the problems and influential factors of hospice care.In addition,explore the application of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)in hospice care,providing suggestions for developing hospice services in township and improving the quality of life of rural patients and families.MethodsFirst of all,on the basis of literature analysis and policy research,confirm investigation content and control the quality of questionnaire by expert consultation.Select the rural areas of Shenzhou as the sample and extract five villages as location of the survey.The paper take medical staffs and residents above the age 20 selected randomly in township as the investigation object and use the questionnaire method to obtain data about the situation of knowledge and attitudes.In addition,research the application of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)in hospice care.The SPSS 19.0 package is used to analyze the data.In the end,combined with the related theory,put forward countermeasures and suggestions.Results1.The mean score of medical staffs’ knowledge towards hospice care is 12.37±1.91.Five factors contributed to medical staffs’ knowledge,they are age,professional title,monthly income,work experience and family pattern(P<0.05).2.Score of medical staffs’ attitude is 139.31±6.89.The medical staffs in Shengzhou have positive attitude towards hospice care.However because of the lack of training,medical staffs in township have poor knowledge and clinical skills of hospice care.3.The rural residents also have poor knowledge.Influencing factors include age,marital status,education level and profession(P<0.05).4.The majority would like to accept hospice care of township which traditional Chinese medicine involved in.Conclusions1.The rural medical staffs have poor knowledge.By contrast their attitude is positive and most of them are willing to offer hospice care.Because of lacking knowledge and clinical skills,the health sector need organize courses of knowledge and practice to strengthen their medical service ability and strengthen the death education.2.The residents are also lacking the knowledge about hospice.But they have positively attitude at the hospice offered by township hospitals.The government should take popularizations to strengthen the residents’ knowledge of hospice care.3.The residents have positively attitude at the traditional Chinese medicine.However the service ability in township is low so that the government need to optimize the resource allocation of TCM and intellectual investment.
