| OBJECTIVE:To investigate the expression of IL-17A-producing T cells (Th17 cells; Te17 cells and y8T17 cells) and associated cytokines in the patients with lung adenocarcinoma. METHODS:Taking the patients with lung adenocarcinoma and healthy donors as the research object, frequencies of IL-17A-producing T cells were detected by flow cytometry, the associated cytokines were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, the mRNA expression of IL-1β, IL-17A and IL-23 were analyzed by quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR), then comparison of these parameters in patients with that after surgery. RESULTS:The frequencies of circulating Th17 and y8T17 cells in patients with lung adenocarcinoma were found to be significantly increased compared to those in healthy donors, but Te17 cells were decreased in patients. Serum cytokine levels and relative mRNA expression levels of IL-17A, IL-23 and IL-1β were significantly increased in patients. Additionally, they were all decreased after surgery. CONCLUSION:The IL-17A-producing T cells and associated cytokines may be involved in the progression and development of human lung adenocarcinoma. |
